Working as a financial administrator, I'm mainly responsible for some analysis work to examine our internal effectiveness such as cost analysis and performance analysis. In addition, I'm also in charge of setting up electronic procurement system with the aim to improve budget control, accountability and efficiency of the branches in Taiwan and China.

In my spare time, I love to go biking, climbing, singing, and listening to music. I also believe that going out to see the world can help us become independent and absorb new information, such as the differences of organizational culture, management experiences and business strategies.

While in GSE program, I’m looking forward to learning the strategy and analysis skill of change management by visiting the management consultant companies such as KPMG and PWC. And I would like to visit some investment banks to learn their analysis approach and know their investment strategies.

Ching-wen Tseng (Jean)

Sponsor Club Rotary Club of Minsyong

Employed by National Sun Yat-sen University

Occupation Research Assistant

Age 26

Lives Chiayi, Kaohsiung

Energetic and enthusiastic in trying things new, Jean enriches her life with different adventures and life experiences. She likes to participate in international activities and encounter different cultures. She has assisted in several international events and received many foreign guests in Taiwan.

Jean is a research assistant in the department of Physics of National Sun Yat-sen University. For her work, she takes charge of student affaires, bilingual website designing, document translation and NSC project fund management.

She would like to see how university education cooperates with local science industry, especially in the field of physics which is related to her work. As she knows, the Australian National University and University of Sydney not only are rated as the Top 20 University in the world but also are well-known for their outstanding performance in science, especially the Australian National University has set up the “Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering” which has excellent academic research in the field of physics. Therefore, they serve as good models for the Taiwanese universities. She would also like to compare the administrative systems and science education between the universities in Taiwan and Australia in order to enhance the science education in the department of physics that she works for. She would also like to know how the departments of physics in Australia cooperate with other universities and science industries.

Jean loves traveling, knowing new friends, playing badminton, reading and introducing the beauty of Taiwan to foreign friends. Furthermore, since her previous study is related to the Native American culture, she cultivates her interest in Taiwanese aboriginal culture and concern about their culture preservation in modern Taiwan as well. In Australia, there are 14 aboriginal tribes who speak more than 250 different languages. Some museums are founded to introduce their cultures and educate the public, such as the Bangerang Cultural Centre and Tiagarra Aboriginal Culture Centre and Museum. Similar to Australia, Aboriginal culture also becomes the significant cultural heritage to present the beauty and characteristic of Taiwan. In this case, it is important to know how Australian government preserves their tradition and language as well as formulates the policy to prevent the aboriginal culture from fading out.
